New law signed by the Governor to start September 1, 2011 will effect all taxpayers who
want to apply for a homestead on a home or a mobile home after that date.  Look under
the updates tab for  a letter explaining the new law and the ways it is may effect you.             
                                               
Within this site you will find general information about the District and the ad valorem property tax
Shackelford County Appraisal District is responsible for appraising all real and business personal property within
Shackelford County. The district appraises property according to the Texas Property Tax Code and the Uniform
Standards of Professional Appraisal Practices (USPAP).

Shackelford County Appraisal District is responsible for the fair market appraisal of
properties within each of the following taxing entities:

  • Shackelford County                                                        
  • Shackelford Co Hospital District          
  • Albany ISD                                            
  • City of Albany    
  • City of Moran
  • Moran ISD
  • Lueders-Avoca ISD
  • Clyde ISD

Over-65 & disabled taxpayers who wish to use the Installment Payment must apply by filling out and  signing a  
Installment Payment can only be used on the residence homestead property.
